Emma Stephens Lewallen, age 90, of Baldwin, Georgia, went to be with The Lord on Friday, January 15, 2016 following an extended illness at a private care facility.
Mrs. Lewallen was born on January 22, 1925 in Cornelia, Georgia to the late Hubert and Grace Beck Stephens. She was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church for 50 plus years, and was retired from Carwood Manufacturing with 43 years of loyal and dedicated service. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Lewallen; brothers, Luther Stephens, Hollis Stephens; sisters, Ethel Mae Taylor, and Bonnie Burrell England.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and OP Coward, of Cornelia; sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence and Doris Lewallen, of Baldwin; Larry and Jeri Lynn Lewallen, of Baldwin; sister, Violet Styles, of South Carolina; grandchildren, Ronald Lewallen, Paula Westbrook, Jennifer Turner; great-grandchildren, Caleb Lewallen, Charlotte Lewallen, and Jason Turner.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2016 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Frank Sailors and Rev. Terry Riceofficiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2016 and from 12:00 p.m. to the funeral hour on the day of the service at the funeral home.
