Frances Louise Millsap Cowart, 88, of Dawsonville, GA died peacefully on January 13, 2016. She was one of four children of Vincent and Clessie Millsap. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ronald Wayne Cowart, as well as two sisters, Mary Millsap Dewberry and Ruby Millsap Lee.
Frances graduated as class Valedictorian from South Fulton High School in 1945. She went on to Secretarial School before working for 35 years as an executive secretary at PPG Industries. She retired to spend time with her husband of 70 years, John Arvil Cowart, Sr., her children and grandchildren. Frances and Arvil tried never to miss a soccer game, baseball game, basketball game, swim meet or ballet recital of their five grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Frances is survived by her son, John Arvil Cowart, Jr. (Marie); daughter-in-law, Susan Bell Cowart; beloved grandchildren, Nathan Cowart (Jenifer), Drew Cowart, Adam Cowart, Natalie Cowart, Blake Cowart; great-grandchildren, Connor, Riley, Dylan Grace and Maddox; brother, Roy Millsap (Sarah); and a loving extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until service time and at a reception following the service. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.
