Evelyn Owens Allen Haygood

Mrs. Evelyn Owens Allen Haygood, age 79 of Cherry Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A daughter of the late Oscar and Ruth Owens, she was born July 27, 1936 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Toccoa and having been reared by an aunt, Mattie Allen.  She was retired from Coats and Clark with 25 years of service.  She attended The Pointe Church. 

Survivors include her husband of the home, Johnny Haygood; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Danny Jones of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Judy Haygood of Toccoa; grandchildren, Taylor Haygood and Matti Haygood; brother, Alton Owens of Anderson, South Carolina.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 16, 2016, 3:30 PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Dennis Rafala and The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. 

The family will be at home on Cherry Street and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Taylor Haygood, Wayne Martin, Jackson Pitts, Andy Haygood, Jerry Chitwood and Wayne Jones.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Evelyn Owens Allen Haygood.
