Ronald “Boo” Cantrell, age 68 of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Cantrell was born on January 22, 1947, in Gainesville, Georgia, to the late Clara W. Cantrell Dorsey and Carl Mahaffey. He was a truck driver and a member of Travis Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by his siblings, Claudine (Dinky) Cantrell, Christine Dorsey, Jeane Moody, Readers Dorsey, and Bennie Dorsey.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Cantrell, Cleveland, GA; sons, Shaka (Miciah) Cantrell, Cleveland, GA, Reggie (Zina) Cantrell, Cleveland, GA, Ron (Shaye) Cantrell, Cleveland, GA, LaShuan Cantrell, Cleveland, GA, Jamal (Amber) Cantrell, Toccoa, GA; daughters, Ashanti Cantrell, Cleveland, GA, Nikki Cantrell, Cleveland, GA; sisters, Sharon (Alfred) Hampton, Gainesville, GA, Peggy Kemp, Gainesville, GA, Mary Ann Mahaffey, Atlanta, GA; brothers, Wallace Dorsey, California, Donnie Dorsey, Cleveland, GA, Cecil Dorsey, Gainesville, GA; Glen (Charlene) Dorsey, Indianapolis, IN; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
A Going Home Celebration is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Travis Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Alfred Hampton and the Rev. Gatson will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 P.M. at Travis Chapel United Methodist Church.
