Mack L. “Whitlo” Gaines

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Mack L. “Whitlo” Gaines, age 70, of Jefferson, who passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. Mr. Gaines was born in Jefferson, Georgia, a son to the late William and Azalee Akins Gaines. Mr. Gaines was a veteran of the US Army and was a Truck Driver. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gaines was preceded in death by his wife, Florinda Gatain Gaines, and his brothers, Ricky and Tim Gaines.

Survivors include his daughter, Christina Gaines Lester, son, James Gaines, sisters, Paralee Perry and Janie Keith all of Jefferson; brothers, Jimbo Gaines, Pendergrass, Harold Gaines, Talmo and Danny Gaines of Villa Rica. 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survive.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Bugg and Rev. Douglas Gaines officiating. The burial will follow in the Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 - 9 pm at Evans Funeral Home.
