William C. (Bill) Vaughan

Obituary Date: Wednesday, January 6, 2016

William C. (Bill) Vaughan, 87, died peacefully surrounded by family at his home on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 after an extended illness.  A lifetime resident of Hall County, Bill was born on July 21, 1928 to parents, Dr. C.E. Vaughan and Eunice Hosch Vaughan. 

Bill was a 1947 graduate of Gainesville High School and attended the University of Georgia. During the Korean War he served with Company A, 982nd Engineer Construction Company.  He retired from Williams Brothers where he served as Sales Manager.  Bill was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church where he served as a Bible Fellowship teacher.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Mildred Barnes Vaughan and brother, V.J. Vaughan.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joanne Glaze Vaughan; daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie (Steve) Bell, Laura (Bobby) Staub; sons and daughters-in-law, Glaze (Kim) Vaughan, Kelly (Crystal) Vaughan; grandchildren Haley (Wes) Sandefer, Katie (Josh) Bemis, Emily Bell, Keelan, Berkley, Ainsley, and Aidan Vaughan, Tanner White and Isaac Vaughan; great-grandchildren Sydney, Blake, and Khloe Sandefer, Autumn, Ava, Eli, and Ivy Bemis, Will and Marlow Vaughan;  sisters Lois (Jim) DeLong, Carol (Gene) Weschler; brothers Jerry Vaughan, Chris (Bonnie) Vaughan and sister-in-law Wayne Vaughan.

Visitation will be Friday, January 8, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Little & Davenport Funeral Home with the service to follow in the chapel.  Dr. Jeff Crook will be officiating with Brent Cochran and Robbie Morgan providing the music.  Graveside service will be at Alta Vista Cemetery with Rev. Sam Parsons officiating.

The Vaughan family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Carmen, Anna, Jennifer, and Anne and to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center for their excellent care for Bill and his family during his illness.
