Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Harmony Hall Baptist Church for Herbert G. Williams, age 89, of Gillsville. The Rev. John Kinsey and Rev. Richard Merck will officiate. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Williams passed away Sunday January 3, 2016.
Mr. Williams was born in Jackson County to the late Gordon “Dude” Williams and Connie Irvin Williams. He worked for the railroad and then as a poultry feed truck driver until his retirement in 1988. After retirement he worked his own Poultry farm and raised cows. He was a lifelong member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife of 65 years, Virginia Mae Wright Williams, Gillsville, son and daughter-in-law, Donald Gerald Williams and Wanda Williams, Gillsville, daughter and son-in-law, Linda Williams Calvert and Michael Calvert, Gillsville, grandchildren, Sabrina Williams Cantrell and husband James, Gainesville, Amanda (Nikki) Kent Tharpe and husband Jason, Hoschton, Zachary Michael Kent, Gillsville, sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie Williams Seay and Stuart Seay, Hollywood, GA.
