Betty Nell Perry, age 81 of Cumming, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2016. Betty was a lifetime member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church. She was employed at Jackson's 5 and dime for over 25 years up until the time it closed. From there she went to serve in the Cumming Elementary School Cafeteria until she reached retirement. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Perry; brothers, Edsel Smith, Carroll Smith, Shirley Smith; sisters, Sybil Johnson, Annie Laura Smith.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Christy Perry of Dawsonville; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Leroy Harbin of Cumming; grandchildren, Cade, Carsen and Cara Perry; Travis Harbin, and Jody (Amber) Harbin; great grandchildren, Heather, Haley and Eli Harbin; sister, Mary Chumbler of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Joyce Smith of Cumming; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Loyd and Betty O'Bryant of Freehome, Dot Thomas of Gainesville, Harold Perry of Cumming, Donnie and Carolyn Perry of Alpharetta; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Coal Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Tony Allen and Rev. Jerry Orr officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 am until hour of the service.
