Joyce Ann Dotson

Joyce Ann Dotson of Cumming, Georgia, died on her 80th birthday, December 24, 2015.  Joyce was born in Monroe, Georgia, where she met her husband, James William (J.W.) Dotson.

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 61 years, J.W.; parents, Robert and Annie Lou Whitley; sister, Cecile Thompson; nephews, Mitchell Allen and Donnie Jones.

She is survived by her daughter, Joy McNeel; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kelly Dotson; grandsons, Cody Dotson and Will Dotson; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Jean Whitley; sister-in-law, Polly Kraft; nieces Gail (Henry) Bagby, Ann Allen, Kim (Keith) Thomas, Susan (Bud) Turner, Elizabeth (Scott) Wingo, Vicki (Mark) Starnes; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.  She is also survived by our dear friend, Carolyn Brock.

Joyce had an outgoing and loving nature, and she never met a stranger.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 30th, from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming; a memorial service will follow at 2:30 PM in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tom Waggoner officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Forsyth County Animal Shelter or the charity of your choice.
