Calvin Willis (Kibby) Holloway was called home on December 14, 2015. He was born January 14, 1946 in Camden New Jersey to the loving parents Porter and Teola Holloway, who preceded him in death. Calvin (Kibby) was the youngest of seven siblings. He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Betty Smalls, Naomi Pinkston, Beverly J Langston and Doris A Walker. His brothers, Porter Holloway Jr. (Streetsboro, OH) and Thomas P Holloway (Willingboro, NJ) are left to cherish his memory.
Calvin (Kibby)grew up and attended public schools in Camden New, Jersey, where he met and married his childhood love, Mary Loreatha, out of that wedlock 5 beautiful children were born: Marie Holloway (Detroit, MI) Calvin Holloway Jr. (Redford, MI) Tahana N Thorton (Detroit, MI) Porter A Holloway (Michelle Holloway, Gainesville, GA) and Nicole Miller (Elder Keithon Miller, Detroit, MI)
Calvin (Kibby) relocated his family to Detroit, MI where he raised his children until adulthood. Calvin was a member of the UAW and worked for Ford Motor Company for 25 years. He was a dedicated welder at Ford River Rouge Plant in Dearborn MI. until he retired. Calvin (Kibby) later moved to Gainesville, GA with his youngest son Porter Holloway who provided daily care for him until his demise.
Calvin (Kibby) accepted and claimed Jesus Christ as his personal savior during his adult years. He was always willing to share the word of God to anyone that was willing to listen. He served in the music ministry at St. John Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA. He also attended Source of Hope and Voices of Faith both located in Gainesville, GA.
Calvin leaves to cherish his memory, his 5 children, 6 grandchildren, 2 brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19,2015 at 12:30pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly & Jackson Funeral Home.
