Sarah Francis Echols Evans, age 85, of Cumming, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. She loved working alongside her husband in the yard, farming, raising chickens and driving the school bus.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Eugene Evans; parents, Claude Welton and Ola Mae Belle Henderson Echols; sister, Naomi C. Croy; brother, James (Jim) Echols.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Ruth Evans of Cumming; grandchildren, Shane and Mandy Evans of Cumming and great granddaughter, Lauren, Kristy and Stephen McPherson of Cumming and great granddaughter Kadance and great grandson, Camden; brother, Robert Echols of South Carolina; brother-in-law, Bobby Croy of Cumming; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Sue Evans, Louise Evans all of Cumming; several nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives also survive.
The family would like to thank all the care givers at The Oaks at Post Road and Crossroads Hospice for all their care and support.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 20th at 2:00 pm at New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Purcell, Rev. Jeff Wilkie, Rev. Joey Wallace and Benny Grogan officiating. Interment will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Sunday from 10:00 am until hour of the service.
