Linda Wimpey Martin

LINDA WIMPEY MARTIN, age 49, of Demorest, GA passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 following a sudden illness. 

Ms. Martin was born August 5, 1966 in Young Harris, GA, to Mary Stroud and the late Johnny “Richard” Wimpey. She was a member of The Torch, and served as an administrative secretary at Fieldale Farms for the majority of her career, and most recently for Athens Regional Medical Center. 

Ms. Martin is survived by her mother, Mary Stroud Wimpey of Cleveland, GA; and daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Benji Williams of Clarkesville, GA . She was a loving mother and daughter, and was happiest when she was around her friends and family. Ms. Martin was always laughing and brightening any room she was in. She loved her pets, traveling and working in her flower garden. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 6:00 PM, Monday, December 21, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel in Demorest with Rev. Mike Franklin officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 20, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
