Mrs. Willie Hulsey Glover passed away on Wednesday December 16, 2015 at The Oaks at Limestone following an extended illness. She was 100 years old. She was the daughter of the late Kader G. and Martha Lawson Hulsey. Willie was married to L. Randall Glover from 1939 until his death in 1983.
She was a survivor of the 1936 tornado, where she was injured at the Owen-Osborn Hosiery Mill. She was retired from Modree's, where she worked for many years assisting Gainesville ladies in dressing fashionably. For most of her life, Willie was a member of First Baptist Church and the Winsome Sunday School Class. She was a long-time member of the Advance Study Club. Willie was the epitome of a gracious, Southern lady and was always quick to help her family, friends and others.
Willie will be greatly missed by her children; Randy (Pauline) Glover, Palm City, FL and Nancy (J.D.) Kirby, Gainesville. Grandchildren; Kristin (Kevin) Finley, Clermont; Robin Kirby, Decatur; Angela (Doug) Martinelli, Alpharetta; Jenny (Jack) Lokiensky, Cooper City, FL; Clay (Angela) Glover, Hollywood, FL; Ashley (Brody) Miller, Lakeland, FL; Laura Glover, Fort Pierce, Fl; and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday December 18, 2015 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Fields will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Ministry of Caring at First Baptist Church, 751 Green Street, Gainesville, Ga. 30501.
