Madelyn Elizabeth Ricks Cheek

Madelyn Elizabeth Ricks Cheek, age 83 of Cumming, GA left this earth on December 14, 2015. She was born on Jan 11, 1932 in Moultrie, GA and is preceded in death by her husband Conde Cheek, her parents William Joel Brady Ricks and Lillie Mae Pope Ricks both of Moultrie, GA; sister, Delphie Lane of Thomasville, GA, brother, Julius Ricks of Pensacola, FL, sister, Virginia Edge of Doerun, GA, sister, Lorece Taylor of Panacea, FL, brother, Andrew James (AJ) Ricks of Moultrie, GA and sister, Johnnie Lassiter of Moultrie, GA.

Madelyn was most happy as long as everyone else was happy, first and foremost. From raising her children to seeing her grandchildren grow, family was the most important aspect of her life. Flowers, sunshine and warmth brought her the great joy.

Madelyn is survived by daughters, Carole (Reggie) Elkins of Woodstock, GA, Linda (John) Horton of Rock Hill, SC; son, David Conde (Danielle) Cheek of Cumming, GA; brother, Junior (Karen) Ricks of Valdosta, GA and much-loved grandchildren Katie Elkins of Austin, TX, Amanda (Jeremiah) Ballard of Rock Hill, SC, Dustin Conde (Jessica) Cheek of Cumming, GA, Danielle Cheek Rairden of Cumming, GA and Drew Lindsey Cheek of Cumming, GA.

Madelyn’s visitation will be Thursday, December 17^th from 5 until 8pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held Friday, December 18^th at 11am in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at 2pm at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Stockbridge, GA.
