Kenneth Hugh Bookmiller, age 68 of Murrayville, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at his residence, after a long and courageous fight with cancer.
Mr. Bookmiller was born on June 3, 1947, in Pell City, Alabama, to the late Bill and Mary Ellen Nixon Bookmiller. He was a farmer and a member of Northlake Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Mr. Bookmiller was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Kirby and sister, Frankie Doby.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bookmiller, Murrayville; sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Lisa Bookmiller, Murrayville; Daniel and Shannon Bookmiller, Cleveland; Andrew and Amy Bookmiller, Murrayville; mother-in-law, Doris Dinsmore Cain; grandchildren, Michael and Megan Collins; Cody, Cheyenne, Cierra and Connor Bookmiller; Tori and Brittany Bookmiller, Drew and Abi Allison; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Steve Smith; brother-in-law, David Doby; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
The family will receive friends 4-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Bookmiller will lie in state at the Church Monday from 1:00-2:00 P.M.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Monday, December 21, 2015 at Northlake Baptist Church. The Rev. Danny Jones and the Rev. Tony Smith will officiate. Entombment will follow at Yonah View Memorial Gardens.
