James “Jimmie” Howard Jones Jr., 59, of Cumming, Ga, passed away on the evening of December 8, 2015, after a battle with esophageal cancer.
Born in Oakland, California on November 24, 1956, he was the first child of four to Beverly (Lilly) and James Howard Jones Sr. of Melbourne, FL. Jimmie graduated from Orange Park High School (Florida) in 1975. Jimmie attended both Florida State University and University of Florida and was a PROUD Seminole. He married Virginia Patz in November 1991. He received his degree in computer engineering in 1997 and was employed by E-Trade as a Senior Manager in Software Engineering.
Jimmie enjoyed life. He was a master handyman and woodworker, Big Green Egg chef, and amateur astronomer. He and Virginia loved to travel and worked with Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta.
More than anything, Jimmie loved his family. In addition to his parents, Jimmie is survived by his wife Virginia (Patz); sister, Karen (Todd) Ostrosky of Melbourne, FL; sister, Denise Jones of St. Augustine, FL; brother, Scott (Toni) Jones of Merritt Island, FL; thirteen nieces and nephews, and seventeen great nieces and nephews.
