James Thomas Reid, Jr

Obituary Date: Wednesday, December 2, 2015

James Thomas Reid, Jr. of Lula passed away with his family at his side on Wednesday, December 2nd at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after an extended illness.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 5th at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home in Gainesville.  Skip Ecke will officiate. The family will receive friends preceding the service at 10am. A reception will follow the service.

Jim, or "Jimmy" as he was known to some, was born in Atlanta, Ga to the late James Thomas Reid, Sr. (JT) and Mildred Camp Reid.  He was a graduate of The University of Georgia-Athens with a degree in Journalism and was a member of the Chi Psi fraternity.
He was a longtime founding member of the South Hall Lions Club.  He was also active in the Jaycees.  Jim was also an active member of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS).  Jim was a ranked shooter whose cowboy alias name was "Robin T Banks".  Jim was an entrepreneur as well including 20 years as President of Shape Formation, Inc. in Lula, GA, known for making the Rabbit Town rabbit. His hobbies included, shooting, cowboy re-enacting, photography, exploring the mountains, camping, the outdoors, cooking, collecting pottery and old west collectibles and spending time with friends and family.  He brought love and laughter to many and will be dearly missed. 

Jim is survived by his mother Mildred Reid-Hapeville, daughter and son in law Monica and Ken Crenshaw-Gainesville, daughter Millie Reid-Dahlonega, daughter and son in law Molly and DJ Wight-Dahlonega. Grandchildren Somer and Jake Graham,  Mckenzie and Jackson Crenshaw, Samantha Volkman, Killian, Elijah, Gwennie, Wolfie, Mason and Nola Wight, sister and brother in law Shann and Mike Davis and nephews Chris and Michael Davis and niece Shana Davis.
