Lt. Col. (Ret.) Michael Stuart Bunting, age 63, of Murrayville passed away at his residence on Monday, November 30, 2015 following an extended illness.
Born on December 15, 1951 in San Francisco, California to parents William James and Mary Stuart Bunting, Michael spent his career serving his country in the United States Army Reserve having retired in 2011. He then continued his service in the Georgia State Defense Force and was also a member of the Military Order of Foreign Wars and Sons of the American Revolution. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda Lutz Bunting, daughters and sons-in-law: Amanda and Kyle Comen, Charleston, SC, and Heather and Mehrvarz Yavaliollah, of Atlanta, sisters; Wyla Jean Woolf (Paul), Sparks, Nevada, and Patricia Sims (Dallas), Colorado Springs, Colorado, brother; James William (Kathleen) Bunting, Breckinridge, Colorado, grandchildren; Harrison Comen and Aiden and Freya Yavaliollah. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal
Church. Rev. Albert Daviou will officiate. No visitation is planned.
