Irene Reeves, 68, of Dawsonville passed away Monday November 30, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.
Born October 21, 2015 in Gilmer County to the late Cecil “Bodig” and Mary Simmons, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. For over 40 years she worked as a seamstress and retired as a supervisor for Refirgiwear. Irene enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, knitting and crochet. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Christine Reed, Lamour Bearden; and brothers, Wallace Simmons, Charles Simmons and Stoney Simmons.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Donald Reeves, Dawsonville; children, Denise Howard, Dawsonville, Joe and Stacy Reeves, Owens Crossroads, AL, Dixie Ingebrigtsen, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Andrew Reeves, Zachery Reeves, Mitchell Ingebrigtsen, Ethan Howard; brothers and sisters in law, Skeeter and Wynell Simmons, Dawsonville, Sonny Simmons, Dawsonville, Melba Simmons, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives
At her request Mrs. Reeves was cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date.
