Marjorie Hudson Holland

Marjorie Hudson Holland, age 83, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. George Hudson and Alice Hudson; and brother, George Hudson, Jr. She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, George R. Holland, Gainesville, GA; children, Rebecca Houghton, Longmont, CO, George and Laura Holland, Wilmington, DE and James and Aurea Viera Holland, St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren, Todd Houghton, Jeffrey Houghton, George Holland, Allie Holland, Anna Holland and Liam Holland; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Col. Robert Huntzinger, Florence, AL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Holland was born December 17, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN. She was a 1950 graduate of Edina High School and attended the University of Minnesota. She was a medical technician where she worked for her father, Dr. George Hudson in Minnesota for five years. She later relocated to Stone Mountain, GA and then to Gainesville, GA to be near Lake Lanier. She was water skiing at the age of seventy-six. She was a support for Hall County Humane Society. She was an intelligent, loving and gracious wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by her family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Gill Brothers Funeral Home in Minneapolis, MN. The family will receive friends at Gill Brothers Funeral Home on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia, 2150 Limestone Parkway #222, Gainesville, GA 30501 in memory of Marjorie H. Holland.
