Billy Dean Thompson Sr., 80, of Oakwood passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Peachtree Hospice following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Thompson was born on April 24, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late John J. Thompson and Edna Hendrix Thompson. He was retired from I.B.E.W. and of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Turk Thompson; sister, Betty Thompson; Brothers, Howard, James and Earl Thompson.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his daughter, Pam Thompson Hicks of Oakwood; son, Billy Dean Thompson Jr. of Oakwood; granddaughter, Jennifer Thompson Hampton; grandson, Jonathan Thompson; granddaughters, Ashley Hicks and Alyson Hicks; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Sears of Canton, Lois Gaddis of Canton, Marie Pipgrass of White and Brenda Blackwell of Jasper.
