Mrs. Catherine Ivy Taylor, age 78, of Winder, Georgia passed away November 26,
2015. Born in Duluth, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Ethel Garmon
Staton. Mrs. Taylor was preceded by a son, Donnie “Buffalo” Taylor, a granddaughter,
Alecia McKeehan and longtime friend, Bobby Plunkett. She had resided in Barrow
County for the past twenty-five years and was a retiree of Starvin Marvin Convenience
Stores where she served as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Fellowship
Baptist Church.
Surviving are Children, Cathy (Carl) Wilson, Steve Taylor, Chris (Denise) Taylor and
Cindy (Tim) McKeehan all of Winder, Grandchildren, Brian Vaughn, Christopher
McKeehan, Mandy Taylor, Brandy Taylor, John Taylor, Cory Taylor and Justin Partain,
Great Grandchildren, Matt, Dylan, Cole, Parker, Courtney, Faith, Ashley, Kaitlyn,
Austin, Logan, Kailey, Jacob and John, Jr., Sister, Ellene Savage of Maysville, Edward
(Brenda) Staton of Cumming, Earl (Sandra) Staton of Stockbridge, Bobby (Linda) Staton
of Cartersville, and Step-sister, Vera Alewine of Royston.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 3:00 P. M. from the
Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Doyle Sims and Chaplain Robert Bolin
officiating. Entombment will be in The Chapel Mausoleum of Barrow Memorial
Gardens. The Family will receive friends Saturday from 4-8 P. M and Sunday from 1-3
P. M. at the funeral home. A special Thank You to the Northeast Georgia Hospice and
Special Caregivers and Angels, Laura Davis and Jessica Hart.
