Marie Allen McCord

Marie Allen McCord, age 95, of Sautee-Nacoochee, Georgia, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Mrs. McCord was a homemaker and attended First Presbyterian Church in Clarkesville. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. McCord was born in Sautee-Nacoochee, GA on August 26, 1920, to the late Lester Job and Clara Bell Berrong Allen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Roy Dale McCord; sister, Ethel Stephens; and brothers, Arthur Allen and Earl Allen.

Mrs. McCord is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Pam McCord of Clinton, MS, John and Karen McCord of Madison, MS; sisters, Edith Sliger, Betty Tatum and Annie Davis, all of Clarkesville; and grandchildren, John D. McCord and William L. McCord.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home North Chapel with Rev. Lisa Graves officiating. Interment will follow in the Nacoochee Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 29, from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.
