Vivian W. Ash

Vivian W. Ash passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 following an extended illness.

Born on August 31, 1923 she was a lifetime resident of Hall County.  Vivian was the daughter of the late John and Faye Canup White.  She was supervisor and manager of the lunchroom at New Holland Elementary School and worked at Lanier Park where she was over the Dietary Dept. Vivian was a member of Air Line Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Vivian is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert B. Ash; daughter, Elaine Cagle; grandson, Keith Ash; sister, Eloise Smith; brother, Gene White; great grandmother, Mary Phagan Welch.

Vivian is survived by her son, Douglas Ash of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Gale and Ricky Whitmire of Gainesville; grandchildren, Laurie and Chris Nix of Gainesville, Stephen and Crystal Dorsey of Winder, Bryan and Kelley Whitmire of Gainesville; great-grandchildren, Garrett Ash of Commerce, Adam Nix and Markus Huger of Schramberg, Germany, Chris and Mary Smith of Gainesville, Thayne Dorsey of Gainesville; 1 great-great granddaughter, Elaina Smith of Gainesville; sister and brother in law, Raynelle and Charles Sims of Jefferson; special friend, Hortense Bales of Gainesville and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Air Line Baptist Church. Rev. Bradley Elliott will officiate.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Air Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
