Mr. William Marion Emmett, age 88, of Red Rock Road, Toccoa, Georgia, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga.
A son of the late James W. and Irene Peck Emmett, he was born June 7, 1927 in Jackson County, Georgia having lived for most of his life in Stephens County. Mr. Emmett was employed at WABCO for a number of years and later retired from the Eaton Corporation. He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Emmett, in 1996.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Emmett and Jane and Ernie Newton of Toccoa, Virginia and Doug Burgess of Martin, Ga., and Betty and Allen Bohannon of Toccoa, granddaughter reared in the home, Patricia Amick of Toccoa, five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, two brothers, James and Vernon Emmett of Gainesville, Ga., and four sisters, Mary Ann Roberts and Ethell Winters of Gainesville, Ga., Martha Popham of Toccoa, and Myrtle Norris of Oakwood, Ga.
A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015, 3:00 P.M., at The Toccoa City Cemetery with The Reverend Roger Elrod officiating.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday evening.
