Charles Guy Stephens

Charles Guy Stephens, age 72 of Demorest, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015.

Born in Habersham County on March 8, 1943, he was a son of the late Furman and Della Williams Stephens. Mr. Stephens was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and was of the Baptist faith.  He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and NASCAR.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Bill Stephens.

Surviving are wife of 26 years, Rachel Ervin Stephens of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Lynn Stephens of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Mike Kastner of Demorest; step-daughters, Connie Ezell of Trion, Georgia, Pam Murphy of Simpsonville, South Carolina and Vickie Evans of Union Mills, North Carolina; brothers, Garnett Stephens of Demorest, Ross Stephens of Baldwin and JR Stephens of Demorest; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 11 am Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. John Umberhant and Bishop Clarence Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
