Henry Preston Hinesley, age 72 of Dacula, GA passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at North Metro First Baptist Church. Dr. Frank Cox and Dr. Robert Woodall will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to North Metro First Baptist Church Youth Ministry to continue Preston’s desire of seeing youth come to know Christ as their personal Savior. Preston is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judy Brown Hinesley. Son and daughter in-law, David and Mary Hinesley, Grayson, GA. Daughters and sons in-law, Jenny and Mike Violet, Dacula, GA and Marianne and Andy Epps, Athens, GA. He is beloved by his grandchildren, Heather Hinesley, Courtney Hinesley, Michael Violet, Chris Violet, Megan Violet, Brian Perren, Clay Epps and Chandler Epps. Brother, W.M. Hinesley, Decatur, GA. Sisters, Evelyn Bauer, Boston, MA and Louise Hinesley, Decatur, GA. Several Nieces and Nephews. Preston retired as Postmaster of Lilburn, GA and had served 38 years with the US Postal Service. Upon retirement he enjoyed working at the Georgia Baptist Convention. Preston faithfully served at Mountain Park First Baptist Church and North Metro First Baptist for many years in the college and career and high school ministries at both churches. He served as a deacon and mentor to hundreds of youth for the past 30 years passing on his love for Christ to several generations.
