Mrs. Irene Collins Sheriff Murray, age 92 of 192 Persimmon Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Till and Lila Morgan Collins, she was born September 23, 1923 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She retired from Coats and Clark with 39 years of service, was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Don Langston and by a son, William Sheriff.
Survivors include her husband of the home, Fred Murray; daughter-in-law, Linda Sheriff of Toccoa; grandchildren, Holly and Perry Black and Brantley Sheriff of Toccoa, Georgia, Andy Langston of Ellijay, Georgia and Pete Langston of White County, Georgia; sister, Christine Howard of Toccoa, Georgia.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 7, 11 O’clock AM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Ty Childers officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Mike Howard, Michael Thurmond, Jerry Thurmond, Hayden Black, Zackery Langston and Alex Langston.
The family will be at the home on Persimmon Street and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Interment will be in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Matt Bowman officiating. Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Irene Collins Sheriff Murray.
