Michael Williamson, 71, born in Brockton, Massachusetts, December 14, 1943 passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after an extended illness. He resided in Hall County for the past 15 years.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Susan, a son, Michael J. Williamson of Alpharetta, Georgia and a daughter, Steffany L. Williamson of Leominster, Massachusetts. He also leaves a brother, Albert C. Williamson III and three granddaughters, Sarah Williamson, Chelsea Williamson, Emily Williamson, several nieces and nephews and many special friends whom he loved as family.
Michael was the son of the late Albert and Ruth Williamson and was a graduate of Brockton High School. He graduated from Fitchburg State College receiving a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and his M.Ed. in Counseling. Michael was a teacher and counselor for the North Middlesex Regional School District in Townsend, Massachusetts until his retirement in 2001.
Michael was a member of the National Education Association, the Massachusetts Teachers Association, the North Middlesex Regional Teachers Association, the Cherokee Gun Club and the Leominster Jaycees. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent many years on Cape Cod enjoying boating and shell fishing.
Michael will be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend, a strong student and a family advocate, and as an involved community volunteer and leader.

A reception to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at Little & Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The Brandon Funeral Home in Fitchburg, Massachusetts will welcome family and friends on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
