Major Woodford

Obituary Date: Thursday, October 29, 2015

            Mrs. Major Woodford, age 77 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Methodist Church, Summit Street, with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery.  Reverend Clarence Thrower will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 10:30 am - 11:00 am, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Woodford was born September 19, 1938 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Weston Brown and Clara Morehead Brown.  She was retired form Gainesville Heath Care as a Nursing Assistant and was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church.

            Mrs. Woodford is survived by her daughters, Herlinda “Lynn” A. Brown of Clinton, Maryland, Tambra D. Woodford and Sonya P. Woodford, both of Gainesville, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sister, Ann Thomas of Gainesville and brother, Raymond E. Brown of Washington, DC.
