Judy Turner Harrison, age 81, of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on November 1, 2015. She was born November 7, 1933 to the late Renus and Vancy Turner. She was a graduate of Clermont High School. She later met and married her husband of 55 years, the late John Nathan Harrison. Judy was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Judy was employed by the Hall County School District during the 1960s through 1980s. She worked as school secretary for Riverbend and Lanier Elementary Schools and North Hall High School and also was secretary for the school superintendent. She was known as a wonderful cook, and she also enjoyed reading, watching movies, and chatting with friends. Judy’s greatest joys were her daughters, grandchildren, and brother Vandy, and she delighted in having fun and laughing with them. She touched the lives of many people in her family, work, and church activities. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pat Harrison and Allen Wilcoxon of Northport, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Robert Peek of Gainesville, GA; granddaughter and husband, Kaley Peek-Smith and Derek Smith; grandson, Seth Peek; grandson and wife, Buz and Ryann Wilcoxon; and grandson and wife, Andy and Jilli Wilcoxon . She also is survived by her sister Patti Funk, brother and wife Dal and Jan Turner, brother and wife Ben and Mary Alice Turner, and brother Vandy Turner. She had five great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and other relatives; and many special friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 3 at 10:00 am at the Chapel of Memorial Park North, 989 Riverside Drive, Gainesville, GA. The Reverend Dr. Buz Wilcoxon will officiate. Interment will follow at Concord Baptist Church, Clermont, GA. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 2, from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
