Annie Burrell Marcus

Annie Burrell Marcus, age 80, of Clarkesville, GA passed away on October 29th following an extended illness.  

Mrs. Marcus was a lifelong resident of Habersham County and  was the daughter of the late Ernest and  Faithie Simmons Marcus. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and share her cooking with others.  Mrs. Marcus loved life, her animals, and enjoyed talking with everyone, she never met a stranger.  Mrs. Marcus was a faithful caregiver to her grandmother, mother, father, and husband until their passing.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marcus was preceded in death by her husband James Marcus, sister, Pauline Tyler, and brother Elgin Burrell.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Faithie and Carl Ray, Clarkesville, nieces- Charlene Mullinax (Barry), Jenny Simmons, Clarkesville, Laura Mullinax, Cornelia and nephew Gator Mullinax, Clarkesville.  

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, October 31st with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarkesville with Rev. Hal Cason officiating.  Pall bearers will be Gator Mullinax, Will Dodd, Jerome Doss, Cory Smidit, Nathan Abernathy, and David Abernathy.  

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 PM on Friday, October 30th at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville.
