Mr. Roderick Horacio (Ricky) Carruth, Sr., 54, of Gainesville, Georgia passed October 23, 2015. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 1:00 pm., at Greater Timber Ridge Baptist Church 

Athens Highway, Gainesville, Georgia. Rev. Randal C. Studivant, Sr., pastor, Rev. Christopher Roper, eulogist.  Remains placed in state at 12:00 noon., Internment Greater Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Cortege to assemble at 2528 Gaines Mill Road at noon.

Visitation Friday, October 30, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Young’s Funeral Home, wake from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Mr. Carruth graduated from East High School. He joined the Job Corps and became a certified welder at Cottrell.

He was the son of the late Mr. William Herman Carruth and Mrs. Lobelia Bailey Carruth.  He was a loving father to Roderick (Tiffany) Carruth, Jr. and Dietrick (Stephanie Marie) Christian and had seven wonderful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister, Carla Jones.

He leaves to treasure his memory sisters: Patricia D. Carruth, Shelia R. Carruth  and Peggy Woods of Gainesville, Georgia, Suprena (Jason) Bailey of Athens, Georgia and Deborah Carrington of Greenville, North Carolina; brothers: William (Vicki) Carruth, Mark (Shannon) Carruth and Craig Carruth of Gainesville, Georgia and Gordon (Evita) Carrington of Pensacola, Florida; aunts: Theodora Watson of Jefferson, Georgia, Ruby Calloway, Habersham, Georgia , Rosa Bailey, Gainesville, Georgia and Cornelia Davis, Atlanta, Georgia;  uncles: Lamar Brownlee and Harvey Bailey of Gainesville, Georgia; great aunt, Lillie Mae White, Cleveland, Ohio; special friend, Marquett Hood and stepson Amir (Shod) Hood; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
