Rev. Marvin E. Bearden

Reverend Marvin E. Bearden, age 90 of Oakwood, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at New Bridge Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.  Reverend Milton Harris and Reverend Billy Blocker will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 6 - 9 pm and Friday, October 23, 2015 until funeral hour, at the funeral home.

Mr. Bearden was born August 26, 1925 in Acworth, Georgia to the late Arnold Charles Bearden and Kitty Loveless Bearden.  He was retired from Bearden TV Repair Shop and was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church.  Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Maggie Kanaday Bearden, his sons, Bobby Bearden and Jerry Bearden, his sister, Nettie Lou Cook and brother, Selby Bearden.

Mr. Bearden is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Ruth & Tony Grizzle of Oakwood, granddaughters, Sherrie (Bill) Bryant of Murrayville, Angie (Patti) Benson of Oregon and Katie (Leonard Michael) Grizzle of Flowery Branch and great-grandchildren, Zach Grizzle, Chris Bryant and Koda Veneable.
