Nancy Janet Harber Hicks passed away peacefully at home on October 12, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Janet was born on June 29, 1926, near Commerce, GA to James Jasper and Drucilla McCoy Harber. She attended schools in Commerce and graduated from North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA. Afterwards, Janet moved to Atlanta and had a career in radiologic technology. While there, she met John Crawford Hicks of Decatur, GA and they were married on Oct. 4, 1952
In addition to her husband, survivors include two children, James Jeffrey Hicks (Jane Sutton), of Atlanta and Nancy Rebecca Hicks Broyles (William H., II) of Shreveport; sisters, Rebecca Harber Dixon, Mary Edna Harber Harrison and Alice Harber Linton; brother, William Neal (Emily Hope) Harber; sister-in-law, Mildred Wilbanks Harber; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will take place 2 pm Thursday Oct. 22, 2015 at Grey Hill Cemetery in Commerce, GA. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm at Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce.
