Melissa Hays Jones

Melissa Hays Jones, age 70, of Gainesville, GA passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 following an extended illness.

She was born February 13, 1945 and grew up in South Georgia near Thomasville. She raised her sons and lived in Gwinnett County for many years. She spent the past 11 years under the caring and attentive staff at New Horizons Nursing Home where her joyful attitude touched many other lives despite her incapacity. Melissa believed in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the Cross, and is currently a resident of Heaven as a result.

Ms. Jones was preceded in death by her father, James E. Hays, and mother, Evelyn D. Hays.

She is survived by her sons, Scott Jones, Gainesville, GA and Mark Jones, Lawrenceville, GA; and her sister, Carla Haack, Acwoth, GA.

A graveside service for Melissa will be held at 2 PM Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Felton Cemetery in Montezuma, GA where she will be interred with her parents.
