Jerry Lewis Brock

Mr. Jerry Lewis Brock, age 74, of Gumlog Road, Martin, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home. 

A son of the late Boyd Lewis and Vera Watson Brock, he was born August 4, 1941 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived for most of his life in Stephens County.  He was owner and operator of B&B Sawdust Company in Martin, Ga., member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and Deacon of Lavonia First Baptist and Poplar Springs Baptist churches.  Mr. Brock was a long time little league coach and was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Brock and by a sister, Latrelle Brock. 

He is survived by a daughter, Sandi Brock of Lavonia, Ga., two sons, Dennis (Katrena) Brock of Martin, Ga. and Steve (Tina) Brock of Eastanollee, Ga., five grandchildren, Kenneth Brock, Ellen Brock, Daniel Brock, Tucker (Brianna) Porter, and Tyler Brock, sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Wallace Briley of Martin, Ga., mother-in-law, Jo Ellen Brock of Lavonia, Ga., close caregivers, Joann Massey, Donna and Kim, and the staff and caregivers at Halcyon Hospice that provided excellent care and wonderful support.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015, 11:00 A.M., at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with The Reverend Mike Smith, The Reverend Dr. Larry Finger and Mr. Kenneth Brock officiating.  The body will lie in state at the church from 10:30 a.m. Tuesday until the funeral hour.

The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers and will need to assemble at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home by 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Randy Foster, Swayne London, Russell Brock, Carter Chastain, Jimmy Brock and Roger Carter. The follow gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers, Myles Motes, Marion Sisk and Tommy Voyles.

It has been respectfully requested that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Poplar Springs Care for the Future Fund, 67 Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Lavonia, Ga. 30553, in memory of Mr. Jerry Brock. 

The family will be at the home of Mrs. Sandi Brock, 159 Weatherstone Way, Lavonia, and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday.
