Mrs. Mary Juanita Shedd Turpin, age 90, of Old Jarrett Road, Toccoa, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Pruitt Health Toccoa.
A daughter of the late William Wesley and Lillie Mae Adams Shedd, she was born September 6, 1925 in Oconee County, South Carolina having lived the greater part of her life in Toccoa and Stephens County. Mrs. Turpin worked at the Toccoa Nursing Center for several years and also did private sitting for the elderly. She was a member at Old Madison Baptist Church in S.C., loved her children and grandchildren, enjoyed baking bread, hand embroidery and various other arts and crafts, and loved gardening and her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason Warren Turpin, siblings, Thurmon Shedd, R.Z. Shedd, Robert Shedd, Audrey Dyar, Cordelia Boggs, and Clyde Butts, and by two great grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Bragg of Toccoa and Martha (Paul) Williamson of Knoxville, TN., two sons, Lane Turpin (Sherry C) and Phillip Turpin both of Toccoa, seven grandchildren, Prince E. Bragg, Andrew D. Bragg, Marion Ashley Bragg, Wes Williamson, Laura Williamson Gillaspie, Jennifer T. Fan, and Kensey Turpin, ten great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and by a brother, Charles Shedd of Toccoa.
A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, 3:00 P.M., at Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Brandon Crunkleton officiating. The family will be at their respective homes.
