Lula Mae Gilstrap Thomas

Mrs. Lula Mae Gilstrap Thomas, 87 of Gainesville died Sunday October 18, 2015 at her residence.

Born in Fulton County, Mrs. Thomas had lived in Hall County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Pete and Lonnie Patterson Gilstrap.  Mrs. Thomas had worked for Big Star, Barry Manufacturing and was later self employed in the tax return business for many years.  Mrs. Thomas was a member of Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church.

Survivors include her children, Lamar Thomas, Jerry Thomas and Frankie Martin, all of Gainesville; grandchildren, Sandy Thomas, Terri Hatfield, Jan Jacobson, Brandy Thomas, Matthew Whitmire, Destini Sanchez, Chase Martin, Sydney Thomas and Marty Thomas; great grandchildren, Kayla Fortner, Krystan Hatfield, Hannah Thomas, Kaitlyn Thomas, Tyler Garrison, Cory Garrison, Jason Jacobson, Nicholas Whitmire, Jack Whitmire; great great grandchildren, Kaison Rogers and Jace Rogers also survive.

Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Chester Thomas and son Stanley Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 21, 2015 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. J.D. Sosebee and Rev. Chris Smith will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-9 p.m.
