Anthony Quinn Lofton, age 50, Howardville, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, GA following a short fight with lung cancer.
He was known as "Tho" by family and friends and was always the comedian to keep a smile on everyone's face. He was born to Liza Mae Lofton in Howardville, MO on January 31st, 1965. He was residing with his sister Maria at the time of his death in Gainesville, GA.
Anthony was born and raised in Howardville, MO, and attended Lilbourn Elementary and Jr. High School, graduating from New Madrid County Central High School with the class of 1983. He then went on to serve his country in the United States Army. Anthony was a passionate basketball player, sports fan, very talented artist, and loved music.
In May of this year, Anthony was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Despite his diagnosis, he continued to have a positive outlook, accepting Christ as his Saviour is his last days. He didn't want anyone to worry about him and his condition, opting to keep his medical struggle private.
Anthony is survived by his mother, Miss Liza Mae Lofton of Howardville; his daughter, Xaviera Quinntanell Toussaint; son-in-law, Otis Toussaint; and sweet grandson, Chandler Toussaint; his brothers, Sam Lofton of Memphis, TN, Phillip (Loria) Lofton of Copperas Cove, TX, and Jeffery Lofton of Houston, TX; sisters, Catherine (Ralph) Towns of Memphis, TN, Patricia A. Lofton of Memphis, TN and Liza (Jerry) Earls of Gainesville, GA; nephews, Ira Webster, Jr, Patrick Lofton, Damian Gipson, and Dmitry Hunter; nieces, Jasmine Lofton, Arnekia Lofton, and DeMaria Minner; and grand-nephew, Kaleb Mikael Word. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, James and Mary Farr; his sister, Betty Hudson Webster; and brothers, Ernest and Gregory Lofton; and Uncles Moses, James Jr., Clem, and Glen Farr.
A memorial service for Anthony will be held Saturday, November 7th, 2015 at a location yet to be determined in Southeast Missouri.
