Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Travis Leon Boles, Sr., age 87, of Commerce, who passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015. Mr. Boles was born in Duluth, Georgia, a son to the late William Parker Boles and the late Merlie Goolsby Boles. Mr. Boles was a graduate of Duluth High School where he was an All-State basketball player. Mr. Boles was a Master Mason for over 65 years and was a member of the Jefferson Unity Lodge # 36 and Duluth Lodge # 480. Mr. Boles was an appliance repairman and was member of the Duluth Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Boles is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Beatrice Greenway Boles and his sister, Margaret Wilson.
Survivors include children, Bonnie Hunsinger of Lawrenceville, Gloria (John) Pelicone of Dacula, Travis (Rebecca) Boles Jr. of Commerce, Valerie Wilburn of Commerce; sisters, Betty Ruth Singleton of Dacula and Vernice Walker of Tennessee, sister in law, Lula Bell Greenway of Commerce, brothers, Billy Boles of Duluth and Jimmy Martin of Monroe; grandchildren, Christine Hunsinger, Travis Boles III, Amy Thurmond, Michael Wilburn, Belinda Wilburn and 5 great grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Mr. Story Tate officiating. The burial will follow in the Dry Pond United Methodist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
