John Calvin Adams

Funeral services for John Calvin Adams, age 85, of Clarkesville, will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11:00 am from the Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Russ Barker, Rev. Jerry Karnes, Rev. Tony Goss, and Rev. Tony Kemp.  Burial will follow in the Hillside Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm and Thursday evening from 6:00 pm until 8 pm.   

Mr. Adams passed away October 14, 2015

Born in White County, Georgia, August 18, 1930, he was the son of the late Luther Gordon and Lassie Welborn Adams.  He was the brother of the late Gordon Adams, Lamar Adams, Ruby Adams, and Ruth Cabe.  He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  He was a retired farmer.  He enjoyed farming, gardening, and helping his family and neighbors. 

He is survived by his wife, Estelle Wood Adams, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law:  Rebecca (Jerry) Adams Goss, and Cynthia (Ben) Adams Ivey; two sons and daughters-in-law:  Calvin Ray (Diana) Adams; and Tommy (Janet) Adams; Eight grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Branson and Lynn Adams and James and Inez Adams; sister and brother in law: Reba and Jim Childers; Thirteen great-grandchildren; One great-great-grandchild; and special caregivers:  Jan Lovell and Jessi James.
