Isiah Wise

Obituary Date: Monday, October 12, 2015

On December 22, 1926, Mr. Isiah Wise was born to the late, Mr. and Mrs. Otis(Mary Dunn) Wise in Habersham County, Georgia.  On October 12, 2015, Mr. Wise stepped into eternal life to thrive in the presence of God.

Mr. Wise is a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, Ga., but attended First Baptist Church, Gainesville for the past 13 years.

After graduating from high school, Mr. Wise joined the United States Navy where he was ranked as Steward 1st Class, honorably discharged after 2 years of service and went to work at Davidson Lumber Company.  After working various jobs over the years, he retired to enjoy a simple life.  He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.

Loving memories of Mr. Wise will be cherished by his nieces and nephews: James Samuel(Jennie) Shirley, Jean Shirley Jones of Portsmouth, Va., Robert Lee Shirley of Long Beach, Ca., Deborah Mack, Linda Webb, Constance (John) Sosebee, Victor Keith, Mary Sue Brown, all of Gainesville.Ga. and Ruth Wise of Cornelia, Ga.  and 4 other generations of nieces and nephews.  A special friend Ms. Frances Wiley of Gainesville and neighborhood friend, Ms. Mary Brown.  

Wake Service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 5-7 pm at Wimberly & Jackson Funeral Home and Funeral Service will be held at 11 am at First Baptist Church, 1800 MLK, Jr. Dr., Gainesville, Ga.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wimberly and Jackson Funeral Home.
