Thomas Hoyt Gooch Jr

Thomas Hoyt Gooch Jr., age 64, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home following a period of declining health.

Hoyt was born in Dahlonega, GA December 2, 1950 and was a lifelong resident of the area.

He worked at the Burlington Pinetree Plant in Dahlonega for a number of years and was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Suches, GA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Hoyt Gooch Sr.

Hoyt is survived by his children; Kim and Joshua Metcalf, Dawsonville, GA, Joey and Melissa Gooch, Dahlonega, GA, and Bobby Gooch, Blairsville, GA; his mother, Iva Gooch, Dahlonega, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Mickel Jarard, Dahlonega, GA, Brenda and Stanley Cochran, Murrayville, GA. 12 grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Hoyt are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Russell Burt will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Mount Airy Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches, GA.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 5 PM until 8 PM and again on Wednesday until time of service.
