Demie Hilley Rumsey

Mrs. Demie Hilley Rumsey, age 83 of 2325 Morgans Run Court, Buford, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Inman and Eva Lou Cobb Hilley, she was born January 13, 1932 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County and the last two years in Buford, Georgia.  She owned and operated World of Flowers in Toccoa for a number of years and was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Rumsey in 2004, by a daughter, Marie Blevins in 2014, by a son, Robert Rumsey, and by a granddaughter, Taliesha Blevins Kozlik.

Survivors include a grandson, Justin Kozlik; sisters-in-law and caretaker, Ruth Friar of Buford, Louise Mulkey of Charlotte, North Carolina and Martha Crunkleton of Monroe, Georgia; nephews, Pat and Nancy Hilley, Eddy and Cathy Hardman, John and Cathy Hilley, nieces, Agatha Barrett, Brenda and Billy Adams, Dean Canup, Ophelia Simpson, Debbie Jenkins and Lavern Hilley.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 13, 2 O’clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Larry Haron officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Lamar Davis, David Mitchell, Chris Lewis, Jeff Segars and Terry Canup.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 AM until the service time.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Demie Hilley Rumsey.
