Jerlene P. Martin

Jerlene P. Martin, age 82, of Cumming passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Embracing Hospice.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Reverend Ivan L. Martin; granddaughter, Chay White; parents, Andy and Dessie Frix Padgett; brother, Jerry Padgett; brother-in-law, Sid Cowan; nieces, Kathy Howard , Regina Cantrell; great niece, Sydney Ridings; father and mother-in-law, Ewell and Margie McConnell Martin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Florine Martin Chadwick and Walton Chadwick.

Jerlene is survived by her seven children, Gary Martin (Sarah Heard), Deborah (James) Bearden, Rev. Richard (Joan) Martin, Rev. Keith (Lisha) Martin, Denease (Barry) Yearwood, Jeff (Helen) Martin, Danette (Shane) White; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; sisters, Imogene Bowers, Betty Johnson (Lynn Bottoms), Mary Cowan; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Brent) Chamlee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hoyt  (Gwen) Padgett, Danny  (Kathy) Padgett; several nieces and nephews and 2 aunts, Hazel Fields and Louise Pugh.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday,  October 6  , at 11:00 a.m.  in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Boling, Rev. Terry Cowart and Rev. Jerry Frazier officiating. Interment will follow at Ophir Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
