Barry Phillip Journigan age 61 went to be in the arms of his Lord Thursday October 1, 2015 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous and lengthy battle against Cancer.
Barry was born March 30, 1954 in Danville, VA to Christine Travis Moore and Nelson Thomas Journigan. Barry moved his family to Georgia in 1980 making Dahlonega GA his forever home in 1988.
Barry is survived by his mother Christine Travis Moore. Married to the love of his life for 41 years Grace Janice Journigan. Brothers Larry Journigan, and Jerry & Linda Moore. Daughters and Son in laws Kim & Tim Chambers, Theresa & Andrew Roy, & Leslie Journigan. Son and daughter in law William & Danielle Journigan. Grandchildren Kessalyn & Lashae Grizzle, Brittany Chambers & Johnathan Reece, Danielle Cardenas & Natesha Bagwell, Ashley Chambers, Colt Sentell, Hunter, Hayden, & Hudson Roy, Andrew & Jacob Gable, Nathan Luke Journigan, Zachary, Lindsey, & Bailey Journigan, Hailey Abercrombie, Camron & Logan Journigan, Dustin Sullens, Kinzley Journigan, Payton Slason & Rhianna Hutto. Great Grandbabies Kaeden Gable, Trystan Grizzle, & Tessa Grace Painter.
Barry had some of the best friends a man could have ever hoped for. These friends would come anytime they though Barry may need them. Owner of Big Bear Foundation Co Inc. Barry put a lot of pride and hard work into his business. Barry was an avid hunter and loved being outdoors, but above all there was his family. Barry worked so hard to provide for his family and as he got older worked harder when all those sweet grandbabies started arriving. Barry had a true heart belief that Blood did not make Family!! LOVE made Family and he never treated any person different. When Barry was told that he had cancer he started the fight with this saying, "TRAIN ROLL ON" and even at the end he insisted that the "TRAIN ROLL ON!"
Viewing for Barry Journigan will be Sunday October 4, 2015 4-9 pm at Banister Funeral Home and Funeral services will be Monday October 5,2015 at 11 am. Burial will be at Harmony Baptist Church in Eatonton GA. Barry's family completely understands if anyone is unable to attend the graveside service. Family requests that in lieu of flowers any donations be given directly to Larry Banister to go toward any remaining expenses.
