Jacqueline (Jackie) Jordan Callahan

Obituary Date: Monday, September 28, 2015

Jacqueline (Jackie) Jordan Callahan, 52, passed away on September 28, 2015 in Houston, Texas, where she was working and helping to care for her mother. She was recently of Scottsdale, Arizona where she permanently lived with her husband and child. Jackie was born March 6, 1963 in Orlando, Florida to the late Clarence Walter Jordan and Bjorg Andy (Ann) Jordan. After her birth in Orlando, her family returned to Atlanta, Ga. where she grew up, one of three children. A 1981 graduate of Forest Hills Christian Academy in Decatur, Georgia, she attended Georgia State University before moving to Houston, Texas. After spending many years as an administrative assistant, and later in technical support, in the Oil and Gas industry, she met the love of her life Robert Callahan, and they married in 1995  in The Woodlands, Texas. Together they welcomed their first and only child Trey (Megan Elizabeth) Callahan in 1997. Shortly thereafter, they decided to move to Scottsdale, Arizona where Trey grew up.

Our time together with Jackie was far too short. She leaves behind her beloved family and many friends all of whom she cherished, from recent acquaintances to those who she had known her entire life. She had the unique ability to touch the lives of those around her through her genuine compassion and concern. She was always the first to pick up the torch when someone in need, and seemed to always intuitively know what was needed next, even if it was a simple word of encouragement. Jackie brought light and happiness wherever she went, always eager to visit new places and try new things. She was a Christian who loved and accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior and is with him now.

Jackie is survived by her wonderful, loving Husband, Robert Callahan and her intelligent, independent and dearly loved child Trey Alexander Callahan; her mother, Bjorg Ann Jordan; brother Clay Jordan; sister JoAnn Elmore and brother in law Kelly Elmore, niece Lauren Lee Elmore; aunt Pat Jordan; uncle George Breiland and many wonderful cousins from both her father and mother's side of the family.

Jackie’s funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home in Toccoa, Georgia. Visitation with the family begins at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Roger Elrod will officiate the service.
