Broton W. Head

Broton W. Head, age 83, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following an extended illness.

Broton was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Broton was the son of the late Joseph Polk Head and Ellen Butler Head and was also preceded in death by his brother, Loy Head; and an infant sister, Shirley Ann Head.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Minnie Lou Head, Dahlonega, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Blonnie and R.F. Wimpy, Dahlonega, GA, Mary Lou and Jerry Trammell, Dahlonega, GA,  Margie and David Jobson, Acworth, GA. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Broton are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Concord Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Broton will lay in state at the church from 1:30 PM until 2 PM Saturday.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Chris Butler will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 3 PM until 9 PM and again on Saturday until service time.
