Mr. Clinton Robert Fulbright, age 96 of 389 Collins Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.
A son of the late William Lester and Lula Jane Medlin Fulbright, he was born June 4, 1919 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II having served in the China-Burma, India Theatre. He was employed with Toccoa City Gas Department for 15 years and later retired from Patterson Pump and was a member of Bethel Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Ossie Whitlock, Macie Deal, Vernila Beggs, Velma Eades and Wilder Cheek and by three brothers, Hovie Fulbright, Angress Fulbright and Alton Fulbright.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Vera “Peggy” Pearson Fulbright; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Larry Bell of Toccoa, Eva and David Simcox of Elizabethville, Pennsylvania and Karen and Jeff Carter of Lavonia, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Robert and Susan Bell, Cathy and Andrew Acree, Stephen Tucker and Andrew and Stephanie Carter; five great-grandchildren, Ella Carter, Gage Carter, Rosemary Huff, Sarabeth Huff and Lucas Acree; two sisters, Jewell Powers and Leola Hughes Edmonds both of Toccoa and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 1, 2 O’clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Rowland Bearden and The Reverend Fred Duncan officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Mike Fulbright, Jackie Addison, Bobby Honea, Eddie Powers, Jeremy Powers and Daniel Kellar.
The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bell, 61 Charles Street, Toccoa, Georgia and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the Georgia National Guard Honor Guard and VFW Post 4346 and with The Reverend Doug Saylors officiating.
